Since 1970, metro Denver has grown by almost half, to a combined metro population of well over 2.35 million people. That equates to a growth rate of 4% per year. The Corporation for Economic Development, based in Washington, gave Colorado top grades in economic performance, business vitality, and development capacity. The Sporting News gave Denver a 10+ rating in the professional sports category. No other state received A's in all these categories.

Denver is in a very desirable position as a center for national and international commerce, as well as being a very pleasurable environment for people to live and work. While the city's reputation for its beautiful mountain views, warm summer days and brisk sunny winters is fairly well known, Denver's ideal location on the globe puts Denverites practically in the middle of the United States and just about halfway between Munich and Tokyo.
