Skating or fishing on Evergreen Lake, horseback riding through huge stands of Aspen and Ponderosa Pine, cross-country skiing on Elk Meadow and hiking in the abundant open space throughout the Genesee, Evergreen and Conifer area, the cares of the day fall away with each breath of fresh air. This is the best of city and mountain living.

Evergreen is as much an attitude as anything else. It is unincorporated and enjoys Jefferson County Sheriff's protection, Jefferson County Schools (Colorado's largest system) and first-rate volunteer fire and ambulance networks.

While the foothill communities offer a small-town atmosphere, it is growing into the next century. Major supermarkets, national franchise retailers and other neighborhood convenience stores are available locally. Regional shopping centers are only 30-45 minutes away in Denver.

In the foothill communities of Genesee, Conifer and Evergreen weather is like Denver's: low humidity, mild winters, pleasant summers, 300 days of sunny skies each year, snow falls typically melt in a day or two. Residents are renowned for enjoying the outdoors more than most folks because we can comfortably be outside all year around.

Wildlife, beautiful flora and breathtaking vistas are everywhere. Avid campers often stow their gear permanently when they move into the area because they can enjoy our natural surroundings from the comfort of their own homes.
